In September 2010 a Lights for Learning Team visited Zimbabwe for the first time to install lights in rural schools. Throughout the trip, which lasted just over two weeks, the team of four successfully installed lights in three schools, a clinic, a youth training centre and a women's centre. The team also set up valuable contacts amongst the local communities and within the Zimbabwean Government including Education Minister Senator David Coltart. |

Objectives
|
To install lights in a clinic, a Youth Training Centre, three schools and a Nursery. Contacts to be made with a view to funding and rolling out installations to a further 170+ schools. |

Outcome
|
All installations completed with 30 classrooms, 12 offices, 4 dormitories and 2 miscellaneous rooms being fitted with lights. Contacts made and negotiations begun for expanding installations to 170+ schools. |

In September 2010 a Lights for Learning Team visited Zambia to install lights in schools in the rural district of Milenge. The team also continued the networking with local ministers and the central Zambian government. Talks included finding new ways of funding future projects. |

To install lights in a three schools in Kafwanka, Chibende and Mulumbi. Contacts to be made with a view to funding using Zambian business. |
